Biosecurity Systems and Inspections

BIOSECURITY SYSTEMS & INSPECTIONS

ATL are proudly an approved biosecurity provider for Ministry for Primary Industries & Biosecurity Authority Fiji.

Biosecurity is becoming an increasing focus for many countries globally and ATL are well placed to provide biosecurity inspection and decontamination services throughout Japan.

Being approved providers for New Zealand's Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) and Biosecurity Authority Fiji (BAF), ATL have a wealth of knowledge and experience designing and implementing biosecurity systems including Heat Treatment.

From mid 2018, New Zealand MPI mandated that all used vehicles being imported from Japan must be processed through an approved biosecurity clearance system.  Here at ATL, we have approval from MPI which allows us to manage this process seamlessly throughout our facilities in Japan.

MPI released a revised Import Health Standard (IHS), to protect the valuable New Zealand horticultural industry, which came into effect from 1st September 2018.

The new IHS mandates that all used vehicles and machinery leaving Japan on or after 1st September and arriving into New Zealand on or before 30th April, must  be subject to additional treatment by either fumigation with Methyl Bromide (MBr) or Sulfuryl Fluoride (SF) or Heat Treatment through an approved process in Japan.

ATL have approval to operate full Heat Treatment facilities throughout Japan and have sufficient capacity to more than cover current volumes at all ports.
